Treasures

Craig Harrison - Coffee With Jesus

As I sit out front and have my cup of coffee and a scone from a friend with Jesus, I was thinking about TREASURES.  “Jesus Calling,” a book of reflections, spoke about treasures.  Two of my readings today spoke of treasures, and yesterday, my six-year-old grandson came over and made a treasure hunt for me.  He took stick-ups and posted them around the yard.  I had to find the TREASURE, which was a note that said, “I LOVE YOU.”

Every day we are on a treasure hunt!  Just like the game with my grandson, we need to slow ourselves down and quiet ourselves to see the TREASURES that Jesus has in store for us today.  I have a list of things to do, some projects I want to get done, but I do not want to miss the treasure hunt Jesus has waiting for me today!

Today, I am going to try to focus on the TREASURES that GOD has hidden for me to find and be grateful that, in the end, they lead to the great “I LOVE YOU!”  As I sit here, I see a blue jay in the front yard, and I hear other birds that are singing very loudly, and neighbors walking by and waving.  I have a list of people to pray for and I have a scone.  It is a brand-new day!!

Have a blessed day!

So, are you back for that treasure hunt? Or did you bilocate to Bakersfield from Assisi? More power to you if you did! 🙂
