As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was reflecting on a conversation with a friend of mine yesterday. He said, “There’s just no SPIRIT in Christmas this year!” I agreed with him, but then last night I was thinking about it. The SPIRIT of Jesus is IN us, and if we are not trusting HIM and allowing the SPIRIT to come forth, there is no real reason to celebrate Christmas.
The holiday originated to honor the newborn KING, Emmanuel, “God is with us”, to pray, to sing, to worship, and to WELCOME Jesus. Then it became commercialized. Just maybe we need to look back at the REAL meaning of Christmas. So, parties may be canceled, gifts may be simplified, and many of us may even spend Christmas alone. But we do have the choice to spend it with JESUS.
Today we can begin to bring that SPIRIT of Jesus alive with our words, our attitudes, our KINDNESS, and our excitement; this is what the season is truly about. The next days can be Filled with sadness and complaining, or it can be filled with JESUS. It’s Our choice! Let’s prepare to welcome the newborn, care, and get into the SPIRIT!

Yesterday’s message from the brilliant child reminding us of the TRUE meaning of Joy,
J is for Jesus, O is for others and Y is for you. In addition, remembering the correct order, is the definition of the SPIRIT of CHRISTMAS.
If we feel there’s NO spirit in Christmas let’s go back to JOY, remember the reason IS the “J,” we celebrate this Holy day because of our King’s birth. Today’s SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS message follows yesterday’s message perfectly. If we focus on the “J,” of Joy, JESUS. Christmas will be filled with excitement, love, kindness, caring, happiness and laughter. We are so blessed, we need to open our hearts and he giving of our time to help others. This time of year can be difficult, due to a loved one’s death, loss of job, loss of relationships, loss of health. If instead we focus on the giving of: time, energy and our own personal SPIRIT, then, only then, will we experience the true SPIRIT of CHRISTMAS.
