Connections

Craig Harrison - Coffee With Jesus

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, and the three candles on my Advent wreath are lit, I’m reflecting on CONNECTIONS.  The Advent season and Christmas are certainly about Jesus, but it is also a time of connections, the CONNECTION between God and humankind, the connection that God wishes us to have with HIS SON, and the connection that God desires us to have with each other.

One of the gifts of the season is the gift of Christmas cards, a simple gift of CONNECTION.  I love looking at how families have grown, I love seeing the way people age gracefully, I love to know someone is thinking of me, and it makes me think of them.  Connection is a GIFT from God!

So today, even if you don’t feel like connecting, reach out, send out a few cards letting people know that you are thinking of them.  It’s much more personal than a text!  Today, have a blessed day and connect…when we connect with each other, we connect to Jesus, and when we connect to Jesus, we find the FATHER.

Buon Giorno Monsignor,
From joy to spirit to connection, I can’t wait to see tomorrow’s theme. I love, love, love reading your messages. My heart, my mind my readiness to start my day with gratefulness, happiness, FAITH, hope, joy, spirit and connecting increases with your messages.

I read a study last year from John’s Hopkins, it followed adults ages 60 and above. The ones who had regular contacts with relationships/friendships, aka “connections” had significantly lower rates in dementia. It makes sense, those of us blessed to have someone to share our thoughts, our joys, our sadness and to go out and take a walk together or sit and share TIME drinking coffee with a cinnamon crumble coffee cake are actively engaging with another fellow brother or sister. On a scientific perspective, spending time with loved ones, specifically talking, we are using our neurons, axons and creating new neural synapsis aka CONNECTIONS (that’s the technical term, interesting right?) therefore we significantly decreasing dementia.

Spend time with your family and loved one, stop scrolling through your feeds. Instead of reading and viewing videos of your family. Get up, call your family/friends and go out there and make your own memories, memorializing in photos and videos.

Creating memories are more important than any gift. Let me say that again, spending time with your loved ones, is more important than anything you can purchase. The important gifts are the ones which are intangible.

I’m focusing on your last statement (of course the others are equally important), “The connection that God wishes us to have with HIS SON, and the connection that God desires us to have with each other”

Blessings to you Monsignor, our omnipotent and omnipresent Father has you creating thousands and thousands of new connections in your new exciting journey. I know it’s not what you had envisioned, HE has a much larger and greater homework assignment for you. Creating CONNECTIONS with our world vs. a smaller community. Our darkest times do turn into our brightest light, we must keep on walking in blind FAITH, knowing HE has a reason, even when we have NO idea what it is! I’m still wandering around in the dark, it’s a good thing I’ve always been blind, so I’m not falling over and tripping and breaking my hip bone.
