As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking of the word SHEPHERD. I have always loved Psalm 23, “The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want”! The dictionary defines a SHEPHERD as one who tends his sheep. I am sure that is why the Scriptures always refer to Jesus as the true SHEPHERD. If one of them goes astray, HE leaves the 99 and goes after the one that is lost.
When we say that the Lord is my shepherd, we make a claim that Jesus is the Lord of our life and that it is He whom we follow. Scriptures tell us that a SHEPHERD knows HIS sheep. I find comfort knowing that Jesus knows me and that He is the one I need to follow. I find comfort that Jesus would search for me if I were lost.
So today, whatever is going on in your life, know that Jesus is the True Shepherd. He will lead you to quiet Waters and refresh your soul. He will guide you and lead you on the right path for HIS name’s sake. He will anoint your head with oil and your cup will overflow. What more do we need? Today I am going to rejoice in my shepherd, Jesus Christ!
Have a blessed day!
