Love and Pain

Craig Harrison - Coffee With Jesus

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I have been thinking a lot lately about LOVE and PAIN. Love and pain seem to go hand in hand. I think of the friends who have come to talk to me lately, who have lost a loved one. Their LOVE for the person is so strong, but the PAIN is equally as strong.

I think about moments and times in my life when I experienced pain. The loss of my sister, my brother, my mom, and dad. The past 2 years and experiences I have had. The abandonment, disconnection has been painful, but they all are connected to great moments of love in my life. Sometimes I want the pain to go away but then God reminds me how powerful the LOVE was that went with the PAIN.

I think of the PAIN of the cross, and yet the LOVE of the action and the gift of the resurrection. Perhaps we need to know and embrace the pain and feel the love that is connected with it. I would never not have wanted to experience the LOVE even with the ongoing PAIN! Today, I am going to celebrate the LOVE and embrace the PAIN. I’m going to embrace the cross and yet celebrate the LOVE of Christ. Have a blessed day! Feel the LOVE and don’t be afraid of the PAIN, it just means you LOVED!
