Comfort

Craig Harrison - Coffee With Jesus

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was reflecting on a quote from John Henry Jowett, “God comforts us not to make us comfortable but to make us comforters.”  Oftentimes, God allows us to experience difficult moments and takes us to places we do not want to go, or would not choose to go. He does this so that HE can use us.  He teaches us to COMFORT others.

Do you wonder why you’ve had to go through certain trials, suffering, or pain?  In time, you will see God needed you to experience these things to carry out HIS plan.  HE will bring people and situations to you so that you can be the COMFORTER!  You will be able to share your story of suffering and how GOD carried you through.  God will use you as a gift to others. God will use you to bring hope in times of despair.  I believe there will become a time when you may even praise God for the trial; it’s HIS Grace that has given you TRUE FAITH!

Today, I will strive to accept GOD’S plan and allow HIM to use me as HE needs!  And I thank God for the COMFORTERS in my life!

Monsignor Craig
I had a wonderful experience yesterday, as I was leaving court yesterday, a kind mature woman asked me for a place nearby for a cup of coffee as she had 3 hours to kill (she had been dropped off at court). I suggested the quaint tiny restaurant inside The Padre Hotel. As she left, I felt like a heel. I told God, if I see her once I get my car, I’ll ask if I can drop her off. As I was leaving the parking lot, she literally was right there, on the street. I asked her if I could drop her off, she was grateful for the offer. I ended up having breakfast with one of the nicest kindest retired Christian educators of children with special needs. We both shared stories and the more she shared, I knew God had placed her in my path to share my story. This last year, she lost 10 family and friends, 5 within the same month. Her immediate family were experiencing painful strained relationships. I could sense the level of pain and emotional toll she was experiencing.
I decided to share my story with her, I shared my divorce, my custody battle, my rare illnesses, my despair, which lead to to try leaving this world. We both agreed, it was not a coincidence that we met, God placed us together for a reason. She had been contemplating suicide, I know our Father places EXACTLY who we need in our paths. HE has led me to dozens of fellow brothers, who are experiencing painful emotional situations. Most of them, have been on the verge of committing suicide.

While I was reading today’s passage I felt his presence, HE has an incredible plan of who we meet in our journey, our walk with God, I was overwhelmed with HIS love. HE wants us to COMFORT others, to do so, we MUST first experience painful, hurtful, lonely tumultuous trials and share our walk with others.
John Henry Jowett’s quote, “God comforts us not to make us comfortable but to make us comforters,” is a precise statement.
The following was experienced by both of us, “You will be able to share your story of suffering and how GOD carried you through. God will use you as a gift to others. God will use you to bring hope in times of despair.” As she left, she thanked me, gave me a big hug and kissed the top of my head.

The past year. I was finally able to praise God for all the many trials I went through, I am stronger and a kinder, more compassionate Christian, due to my journey.

I praise HIM, I walk in blind FAITH, GRACE and HIS LOVE!

grazie per il messaggio di oggi,
Dr. Marta Chipres (Escobar)

I’ve also thanked GOD for friends and family members who have helped me as I have gone through surgeries lately! One more to go or should I say I PRAY there is only one more to go through! Amen and God Bless everyone!
