As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about ANGER. In the past few days, a number of people have shared with me the anger they are feeling. They have either been hurt by someone or are frustrated with what’s happening in their lives. Sometimes they don’t even know what they are angry about.
I have learned over the years that ANGER only destroys the person who holds onto it. We need to examine our lives and be truthful about why we are angry. Most of the time, it’s about our own choices.
Isn’t it wonderful that we have a God who does not hold grudges or remains angry, but continually challenges us to be more focused on HIM, rather than on holding on to anger?
Sometimes that is easier said than done. The Scriptures tell us in James 1:19-20, ”Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”
Today, if you’re angry with someone, or at some situation, or even with yourself, ask God to help you let it go and focus on HIS love and mercy. And watch the anger dissipate.
Have a blessed day!
