Radical Relationships: Part 2

by Craig F. Harrison

Welcome to session two of Radical Relationships on Reflections with Craig! Today, we are looking at something so simple, yet so profound: the need to spend more time with the people we truly love.

As Matthew Kelly highlighted, one of the greatest regrets people face is not prioritizing time with loved ones. No matter what stage of life you are in, it is never too late to make a change and be intentional about reaching out.

Practical Ways to Connect:

  • Leverage Technology: Whether it’s sending a quick text, writing a note, or using FaceTime to see distant grandchildren or godchildren, modern tools make staying close easier than ever.
  • Protect Your Energy: The older we get, the smaller our circle often becomes. Stop wasting time chasing relationships that don’t reciprocate love, and focus on the ones that do.
  • Plan Ahead: Put reminders on your calendar a few days before a loved one’s birthday so you can prepare a heartfelt card or set up a call on their special day.
  • Don’t Wait for an Invitation: Take the initiative. Invite a neighbor for front-porch conversation, call a friend for coffee, or send a handwritten note just because.

Life is too short to leave love unspoken or connection unscheduled.

Who is one person you love that you can reach out to or invite for coffee today? 🕊️
