Radical Acceptance: Part 2

by Craig F. Harrison

Radical Acceptance: It Takes Time and Work 🛠️✨

Welcome back to Conversations with Craig. Today, we are diving deeper into our series on radical acceptance and looking closely at the painful reality of broken family dynamics. Everywhere we look today—especially on platforms like TikTok—people talk about cutting others off or setting strict boundaries with “toxic” people.

But how do we apply these modern ideas to our Christian journey? As followers of Christ, we should always be striving toward reconciliation, forgiveness, and love (though, of course, there are exceptions when severe physical, emotional, or sexual abuse is present) .

The Reality of Rebuilding:

  • A Personal Journey: This topic hits incredibly close to home for me. I was actually estranged from one of my own children for over ten years. Today, I am so grateful to say we have a wonderful relationship.
  • It Takes Time: Healing a deep rift doesn’t happen overnight. It requires a significant investment of time, patience, and intentional work from both sides.
  • Understanding the Rifts: Family estrangement often stems from deeper issues like unresolved trauma, emotional conflicts, or past toxic behaviors.

If you are currently in the middle of a silent season with a child, a parent, or a sibling, I want to encourage you that restoration is possible. Don’t give up hope.

Have you been praying for restoration in a broken relationship? 🕊️

Watch Episode 2 now, and let’s keep walking this road together.
