Radical Forgiveness: Part 7

Forgiveness vs. Reconciliation 🕊️

There is a big distinction between forgiveness and reconciliation, and it is especially important for us to understand. While I sometimes pray for the day that certain people or organizations would have the humility to apologize, I’ve had to accept that reconciliation doesn’t always happen.

The Key Distinctions:

  • Forgiveness is One-Sided: It is a choice I make before God that happens internally in my heart.
  • No Requirements: Forgiveness doesn’t require the other person to repent, apologize, or even change.
  • Breaking the Power: Forgiving someone breaks the emotional and spiritual power that offender has over you.

Forgiveness is about obedience to God and freedom for our soul. 🌿
