Radical Faith: Trusting God Even When the Promise Looks Dead 🌅✨
Welcome to session three of Reflections with Craig! Today, we are continuing our series on radical faith, looking at what it truly means to trust God when everything around us feels uncertain.
Whenever I need my faith renewed, I think of Assisi—watching the sunset, listening to the church bells, and reflecting on how deeply St. Francis lived out his calling. St. Francis had radical faith. He loved the church, respected creation, and saw God in everyone without judging—even in the midst of dark and corrupt times.
Examples of Radical Faith:
- Scriptural Giants: Abraham leaving home, Noah building an ark before a drop of rain fell, Peter stepping out of the boat onto the water, and Mary saying, “Be it done unto me according to your word.”
- Everyday Courage: Radical faith is stepping into a new marriage after the heartbreak of divorce, getting up each day to move forward after losing a child, or stepping back to let your children and grandchildren grow without needing to control them.
- Believing in the Dark: When the darkness gets so deep, the only way you can turn is toward the Light. Radical faith believes even when the promise looks dead and everyone else gives up hope.
Trusting God’s Answers 🕊️
Radical faith trusts God even when He doesn’t answer the way we want Him to. I have to repeat that truth to myself all the time. Looking back at the heavy trials in my life—losing my parents, two brothers, a sister, and my career—I can now clearly see God’s hand guiding me to where I am today.
As Corrie ten Boom so beautifully put it: “Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.” Great tests truly make great testimonies.
Is there an unanswered prayer or difficult situation in your life where you need to trust God’s timeline today? 🌿
