As I sit and watch the sunrise having a cup of coffee with Jesus I think about the end of life. I had the gift of visiting with a friend who is dying last week and has since passed. She was really in the prime of life and shared with me the importance of time. She shared with me that she wished for more time. More time to enjoy the simple things, her family, her relationships. She worked a lot and she says, “and for what, I have a lot of things, but what I really need is more time.” My conversation with her has really challenged me to slow down and focus. This pandemic has done the same. I am used to rushing around all day thinking I was helping people, but now I begin each day with HIM! whom I profess to love and serve. This time is not wasted but has put the rest of time in perspective. Perhaps Jesus is calling you to spend time with HIM, time with your wife and children, time in HIS creation. Maybe HE is calling you to slow down and experience HIS presence in the moment. The sun is beginning to rise and I think of how many of these sunrises I have missed because I was in a hurry. I want to thank my friend for reminding me how precious each moment is. Take a deep breath, it’s a new day, take time to connect with God, your family, and God’s creation. Instead of wasting time today make time for HIM! Don’t make me give you a time out! as My mother used to say. Have a blessed day!
