As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the word PROMISE. Have you ever made a promise to God and then not kept it? I think, over the course of my life, there were many times I when tried to bargain with God or make promises to Him. Even carrying out my Lenten PROMISES are hard! The powerful thing is, that though I may fail in keeping my PROMISES to the LORD, HE never fails to keep HIS promises to me.
Jesus’s PROMISES are real. He doesn’t promise us fame, wealth, or riches, but HE does PROMISE us joy, peace, and understanding. John 15:9 says, “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Now remain in My love.” His promise to love us and to be our light is HIS gift. Studying and reading the Scriptures helps us to remain in HIS love, and to learn and embrace HIS promises. HE is faithful!
Today, I am going to reflect on HIS PROMISES and remember that the closer I stay to HIM, the better I can live out my promise to serve HIM. Isn’t it great to know we have someone in our lives who always keeps His promises?!
Have a blessed day!
