As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about one of the other gifts of the Holy Spirit, KINDNESS.
KINDNESS is defined as the quality of being kind, generous and considerate. Kindness is often mentioned throughout the Bible. I think it is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit that we need to practice in the world today.
The Scriptures say, “Love is patient, love is KIND; Love does not envy or boast; It is not arrogant or rude.” 1 Cor. 13:4. And in Eph. 4:32, it says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, Forgiving one another, Just as in Christ God forgave you!” Can you imagine our world today if we could just be kind to one another? It begins at home, being kind to the people we live with. I challenge all of you reading this to begin practicing kindness at home, with husbands being kind to their wives, and wives being kind to their husband, by reminding children to be kind to each other, and to their parents and by being kind to our coworkers, kind in our texting, posting, in all other forms of communicating.
Today, I am going to strive to be KIND to everyone I encounter. I will also strive to be KIND to myself, trusting that God has a perfect Plan, centered on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, one of which is KINDNESS.
Have a blessed day!
