As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking of the word “YIELD”. You do not see that word very often, but while driving the other day, I came up to a sign that said YIELD. I had to stop and think for a moment and remember that the definition of YIELD is to give way!
I often find myself in such a hurry that I fail to YIELD to what God is asking me to do. I need to practice the art of yielding to God’s plan in my life so that I am not rushing full speed ahead into my own. Scriptures tell me HIS WAYS are not my ways. It is important that I YIELD when I come to an intersection and is important that I YIELD to the plans of Christ.
Today, as I go through the day, I will focus on yielding, YIELDING to the needs of others, YIELDING to my family, and, most importantly, YIELDING TO the voice of God! I have personally seen what happens when you DON’T yield. It always ends up in disaster.
