ANGER

Craig Harrison - Coffee With Jesus

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I am continuing my reflection on ANGER. Anger is a real emotion; we should not deny it. But we have to be very careful with it. We cannot ignore anger. Rather, we need to be careful when we allow it to control us.

I have read some great quotes on Anger. One said, “Anger doesn’t solve anything, it builds nothing, but he can destroy everything.” Another one said, “Speak when you are angry and you’ll make the best speech you’ll never forget!” Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty-seconds of peace of mind.“ Aristotle said, “Anyone can become angry—that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way —that is not within everybody’s power and is not easy.“ Even Jesus got angry. You remember the story when He overturned the tables in the temple.

When we take our ANGER to prayer, God can help us to soften the blow, or help us to regroup, to breathe his grace into the moment. Today, lift up your ANGER.  Learn to calm yourself, give space and time to whoever or whatever angers you, and allow GOD in! Don’t waste another minute!

Have a blessed day.
