Retreat

Craig Harrison - Coffee With Jesus

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about  RETREAT.  Oftentimes, I think that I need to go to another country, or to the mountains, or to the ocean to take a RETREAT, to get away from things, to find that peaceful balance, and to rest. But the best place to make a RETREAT is within our own souls!  We don’t really need to go anywhere to bring ourselves into the peace of God.  Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that I am GOD!”  And Psalm 23:1-2 says, ”The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He makes me to lie down in green pastures.  He leads me beside still waters.  He restores my soul.”

Every day we need to make a mini-retreat.  We need to stop, close our eyes, breathe, and be in the moment.  This calms the mind, gets rid of anxiety, and bring us back into our souls.

Today, I’m going to take five mini-RETREATS between appointments, errands, and unplanned events.  I am going to stop and be still and know that I am with God.

Have a blessed day!

Buon Giorno Monsignor,

As I was rereading your message I noticed something in the actual word, REtreat, RE, to do again. What a beautiful word, the treat of a special time being in solitude, peace, tranquility and feeling our Father’s love through focused prayer. There’s a term I try doing daily, grounding, to feel connected with the Mother Earth, but I also add faith. It could be as simple as walking barefoot on wet grass, smelling lavender on my morning walk or sitting still as I admire God’s gifts He’s bestowed on us. Circling back to the word REtreat, we should find daily moments, special moments to treat us in being with our Father and growing in our faith.

Let’s REtreat, our daily special moments to restore our souls.!

Have a terrific Tuesday
