As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, and light the third candle on my Advent wreath (Rose), I am reflecting on the word JOY. I have come to believe that we do not just have JOY, we need to search it out. There is a difference between happiness and joy.
I was corrected one day by an eight-year-old who told me I did not understand the word JOY. I asked him “What does it mean?” And he said, “It’s just how it’s spelled. The J is for Jesus, the O is for others, and the Y is for you.” JOY! He was right, and when you put it in the right order, you experience peace, contentment, oneness, wholeness, and enlightenment. You can even experience JOY when you’re in pain or suffering.
So, today I’m going to stop experiencing Y(You first), O(others second), and J (Jesus last), and EN-JOY this new day, putting Jesus first, then others, and then myself. Have a great and blessed day!
