As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I’m reflecting on the word JOURNEY! During Advent, we journey with Mary and Joseph, and the Magi following of the STAR! On most journeys, sometimes we look back and we see how far we have come, and sometimes we get anxious and look ahead to see how far we still must go.
I remember, as a child, going on a trip, we would pull out a big, folded map and mark our trips. The line drawn on the map made it seem we didn’t have far to go, but some of those trips felt like a lifetime sitting in the station wagon with my siblings. The signs on the road kept changing, but all I knew for sure was we were moving forward. Our life is a journey, and we move forward to the promises of Christ given to us in the Bible, a LIFE with no more tears, no more sadness, an eternal life in the PRESENCE of OUR LORD!
Today, my journey begins by opening my HEART to the Lord, letting HIM show me on the map where HE wants me to go. Today, I am trusting HIM that it’s HIS map I must follow…HIS plan. Today is a great adventure, a great journey, because each day we get closer to HIM! Have a great journey today, and don’t forget HIS map!
