Craig's Latest Inspirations
Many people are full of anxiety, but the Bible offers perfect advice for tumultuous times: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with THANKSGIVING make your request known to God!” We should tell God what we are worried about and hand it over to Him with Thanksgiving, trusting that He hears our prayers, because we were not made to live in anxiety, but in trust in Jesus.
While seasons, worship, school, family, and social life are all changing—and are out of our control—Jesus Christ remains the one constant. We were created for one thing: to know, love, and serve Christ, so the most important thing is that we change ourselves by moving out of the fear of change into a personal relationship with Him.
Thinking of farmers’ trust in God, we should show gratitude when the rain comes, as it cleans the air, replenishes the earth, and reminds us to thank God for the food and laborers who work the land. God provides rain from heaven and crops in their seasons, filling our hearts with joy, so we should give praise and thanksgiving for the simple things.
Reflecting on why God allows suffering, we recall that God allowed Jesus to suffer and offer it up for us, which should remind us to think of others and get outside of ourselves when we are afraid or in pain. We must stay close to Jesus and trust Him, surrendering our fear, pain, and suffering to Him as part of our journey to holiness.
