As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was reflecting on the phrase, “God uses broken things.”
Throughout the Scriptures, God has always used those people who are completely broken to fulfill His promises. Whether you have been BROKEN emotionally, physically, or spiritually, GOD can use you. If you have been broken with your ambitions, or finances, or relationships, or worldly reputation, HE needs you! Whether you are broken with health issues, or mental illness, or addiction, God can still use you!
In the Bible, we see that these are often the kinds of people God uses. Each morning, as I begin my day with the Lord, I am aware of my own brokenness. At times, I draw inward and I feel I want to throw myself a “pity party”. But then, as the Lord opens my heart, I realize HE needed this brokenness for a greater plan.
Don’t get me wrong. I would rather be strong and in control, but, evidently, that is not HIS plan.
Today, I am going to give my brokenness to the Lord so that HE can piece together what HE needs to make this world a better place. Just like the BODY of CHRIST must be broken before it can be shared, so it is with us. Today, do not be afraid. Allow GOD to use your brokenness to heal a broken world.
