CREATE

Craig Harrison's Coffee with Jesus reflections provide a healthy cup of daily inspiration to start your day. Cover art by

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking of the sculptor’s hands.  A friend of mine, an artist in Canada, sent me some clay.  I have been practicing taking this block of clay and letting God guide my hands to create!  Isaiah 64:8 says, “We are the clay, and You are the potter.  We are all the work of Your hands! “

I may not create a masterpiece, but that doesn’t matter.  Just working the clay, seeing the transformation, reminds me of what God is doing in my life.  So often I have tried to be the potter in my own life, creating an image that was not the God in me.  It’s like the vase that I tried to make in junior high school.  When I brought it home, my mother said she loved the ashtray!

Today, we can trust the Lord to mold us, sometimes to squash us and re-form us, to become the magnificent piece of art that we are. Today, I am going to celebrate that God is still creating this Masterpiece!

Have a blessed day with God as the Potter.

Dear Father Craig, First if all, I guess I’ll never get past calling you Father, or Monsignor. It’s just who you are. Along with that, in a Holy Moment prompt for today, I am writing a letter of appreciation to someone who believed in me. You are one of those people for me. You made me believe in myself again by showing me that God forgives and always welcomes us back to His Church. I was lost for a long time but, with your help, I am back where I belong and helping out in new ways at St. Francis church. This is because of you. It is so different still without you there, but I know my loyalty to the Lord and His presence in my life is more important than anything else. So I, like many other parishioners, carry on and do the Lords work in Whatever capacity we can. So thank you many times over for getting me back on track. Sometimes it’s hard work…there’s a message in that, I know. Have a Blessed day and know how much you are appreciated.
