As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the gift of FRIENDSHIP. You come to know who your real friends are when you go through tough times in life. It’s painful, sometimes, when friendships change or end. Christmas is a time of renewing friendships. Last night, as I sat by my fireplace and I looked at Christmas cards, I realized I am blessed with friends.
But I also thought about what kind of friend I am. Do I reach out to people when they are suffering, sick, troubled? Am I a true friend or is it just when it is convenient? True friends are hard to come by, but when you find one, it’s like finding the rare pearl. Jesus desires to be our friend, someone we can trust! Jesus is there for us to share our fears and trials, knowing that HE will stand by us.
Today I’m going to pray in a special way for my friends (even my four- legged ones) and that I can be a good friend. And I’m going to thank God for the gift of friendships, true friendships. I’m going to reach out to a friend who may be in need today! Have a blessed day!
