Waiting

Craig Harrison's Coffee with Jesus reflections provide a healthy cup of daily inspiration to start your day. Cover art by

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus I was reflecting on the gift of WAITING. WAITING is an art. Since time is such an important and valuable part of our life, we cannot deny that WAITING is a part of time. We spend a lot of our time WAITING! Waiting in traffic, waiting in line, waiting to hear from a friend, waiting to finish an exam and the list goes on and on.

Since waiting is a part of our life we can learn to PATIENTLY WAIT. To know that God‘s plan is unfolding in perfect time. We may get restless, uncomfortable, and very impatient but waiting is an ART. We need to deal with our frustration and learn and practice the ART OF WAITING. The Scriptures are full of people who patiently waited. Abraham and Sarah waited to have a child that they so longed for, Noah waited for the waters to reside, Paul waited in the prison cells, and we are invited at times to wait for God‘s perfect timing.

Today I am going to practice the art of WAITING joyfully, I’m going to trust that God is working in each and every area of my life for HIS glory. Waiting doesn’t mean I can’t continue to live in HIS presence It just means HE has a greater plan, and HE wants us to trust HIM! Have a blessed day!

Good morning Monsignor, you’re up earlier than normal. I think you mentioned you were conducting a wedding. Maybe I misunderstood. This post is so accurate, we spend over 1/2 our life waiting. My big ones that I recall, waiting to finally finish school, ironically I’m thinking of actually going back (my friends will laugh when they read this, as I haven’t told them), waiting to get married, waiting for our daughter, waiting sadly, now for 4 year divorce to be over, waiting for my stat Radioactive MRI as HE’s gifted me a plethora of incurable rare ones. My cardiologist believes the excess iron from my hemochromatosis is going to my heart, explaining why I randomly pass out. Waiting, waiting, waiting… should be a song. I’ve learned finally to gift my concerns all to HIM, so I’m not waiting anymore. HE’ll let me know when something’s ready. Instead, I now focus on helping others, my 1/2 of my life I would have waited, I’m choosing to gift to others by lifting them. Feeding and clothing homeless, volunteering to increase college graduation for minorities and underprivileged students, increasing mental health awareness and helping those of us who are struggling with depression and suicidal ideation (as I tried 2x). My newest addition is helping our local Veteran’s, specifically working with Ed,, Sandy and Carol at the gallery. Today I’ll be at the downtown car show from 6 am to 1. I pray you have a fun weekend, call me when you’re available, we will go back to Mama Mia and chat with Nelson. Bless you Monsignor, oh now I’m usually waiting to read your daily post. I start my day reading them, then Bible and prayers. Your post ground me in our FAITH, great way to attack the day with a positive mindset Marta

Great message! Great seeing you yesterday-- did you give a special blessing yesterday? I didn't see you when I walked out of church after the funeral mass which, along with the rosary, lasted about 3 hrs. or more altogether! I didn't go to the reception afterword since I need to be well since I am going through surgery this Thursday! Amen and God Bless everyone! 1
