Strength

Craig Harrison's Coffee with Jesus reflections provide a healthy cup of daily inspiration to start your day. Cover art by

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the word STRENGTH. A friend of mine sent me a reflection by Danielle Koepke. She says, “Being strong means refusing to tolerate people and things that wound your soul. “

It’s not always or easy to be STRONG. A good question to ask ourselves is what are we afraid? Where can we get strength from? Strength comes from within. I love the Bible story of David and Goliath. Strength comes when we are centered in Christ and we are not afraid of anything because we know He leads us.

We gain strength and each day we set out to do GOD’S WILL! When we allow the GOD that lives within us to guide our feet, we are strong! When we are afraid, we lack trust in the promises of Christ. Scripture reminds us where our strength comes from. Nehemiah 8:10, “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will STRENGTHEN you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

So today, greet the day with the strength of the God that lives within you. Put a smile on your face, make a difference in our world, and shine! There’s nothing to be afraid of when our strength comes from God.

Have a blessed day!

Buon Giorno Monsignor, “Being strong means refusing to tolerate people and things that wound your soul.” This quote by Danielle Koepke, summarizes what I’ve slowly been doing. It’s difficult when you realize some of the folks causing you harm are your family and friends. Our Father equips us with everything we need to be strong, therefore once you realize who is creating wounds in you heart your soul, it’s our duty to wear the armor of God and let them go.
