As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus I was thinking of the word “SEE.” Yesterday I was driving downtown, and I saw a woman with a white cane. She was blind. At the light, I was amazed to see how she maneuvered off the curb and across the crosswalk and got to the other side.
I don’t think I have ever thought much about my own SIGHT or thanked God for the gift of it. It’s one of the many blessings that we take for granted! Then I began thinking a little more, it’s not just the ability to SEE but what am I looking at. As I continued driving, there was a homeless man walking in the middle of the street. I ask myself do I SEE Jesus? I realized I had already judged him. As I drove home, I went my regular route, and yet for the first time, everything was new. I saw houses I’ve never seen before and beautiful blooming trees.
Today I am grateful for the gift of SIGHT, and I asked Jesus to take off my blinders and help me to see HIM in each person, to acknowledge the beauty of HIS creation, and to be grateful that I can SEE! Gen 16:13 “You’re the GOD who SEES me!” have a blessed day!
