Self-Awareness

Craig Harrison's Coffee with Jesus reflections provide a healthy cup of daily inspiration to start your day. Cover art by

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about SELF-AWARENESS.  The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 4:16, “Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching.  Persist in this, for by doing so you will save both yourself and your hearers.”  It is important for us to have self-awareness and self-reflection.  It says in 2 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.  Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?”

Every day, when we wake up and when we go to bed, we should do some self-reflection.  We should reflect on, and be aware of, how our day has gone, of whether we responded like Christ or in ways we can be better.  True self-awareness helps us to see the Christ that lives in us.

Today, take time to reflect and be aware of self and the Christ that lives in you.  When you do, you become a light in a world where there is a lot of darkness and we need the light more than ever.

Have a blessed day being aware of the great GIFT you are!

Right now I'm self aware of the pain my back is in--due to sitting at a computer to do a lot of work for taxes, etc. Then my printer had a message in the window about a paper jam. Got it checked, but there was no paper jam. I was told to take it back to where I bought it, did that, got part of my money back and a new printer!!!!! Can you tell I'm frustrated????? Great message though! Amen and GOD BLESS EVERYONE!
