Peace

Craig Harrison's Coffee with Jesus reflections provide a healthy cup of daily inspiration to start your day. Cover art by

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the word PEACE!  It really is an amazing word.  We can use it to describe inner peace, peace in the family, peace in our world.  Jesus is called the Prince of PEACE!  I think that before we can strive for peace in our world it has to begin in our own hearts.

The world has been forced to slow down.  If we can take a deep breath and be present in the moment, we can find HIS PEACE.  If we don’t look at the past, and don’t worry about the future, but live in the present, in HIS presence, we can find peace!

Today, I’m going to be aware of my breath, I’m going to take time to look at the changing season, I’m going to become aware that even in the chaos I can find peace.  Jesus said, “My PEACE I leave you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives, do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27.  If we can find that PEACE, then we can pass it on…. Have a PEACE filled day!

Bonum mane Monsignor, Today’s message, presence - PRESENT, flowed from your prior ones of: peace, connections, spirit of Christmas and joy topics. The concept of PRESENCE, is a difficult one for me, I’ve struggled to let go of my past and stop perseverating about the future. I have ocd and I know part of my “gift” is trying to organize everything in what I view is my personal order, which unfortunately, applies trying to organize my thoughts about what I should have done to ensure a good outcome. I’m much better now with being present, when in a conversation, I diligently make a concerted effort to focus on them, in order to do so I put my phone away. That darn phone is a calling me, look at me, there’s a new text message. Why would I read something vs having a meaningful conversation with a real person in front of me. I’ve gifted my worries to our Father, my future concerns were an easy fix, why? I know my Father loves me, He will guide me and only allow to give me what I can handle. I too will breathe in positivity, hope, and kindness; I will exhale negativity, worry and disdain. I love your quote, “If we can take a deep breath and be present in the moment, we can find HIS PEACE. If we don’t look at the past, and don’t worry about the future, but live in the present, in HIS presence, we can find peace!”
