As I sit on this beautiful Friday morning having my cup of coffee with Jesus, I think of the word SURPRISES. There are all kinds of SURPRISES. A couple finds out there having their first child – SURPRISE! A young man gets on one knee and proposes to the love of his life – you see her SURPRISE and wonderment. Birthday presents, visits from friends, that unexpected phone call, they are all SURPRISES.

There are also difficult SURPRISES! you see your doctor and you have cancer. You get a phone call that someone you love has passed. I can’t say I really love SURPRISES, but SURPRISES remind me that I’m not in control. It reminds me to focus on what is important and who is important in my life. It reminds me every day that I need to build a relationship with Jesus.

Today I am going to allow the SURPRUSES that come, to take me deeper into my relationship with God. Good or bad they are part of the cycle of life, and I need to embrace them. I can’t worry about them; I can’t control them, and I cannot anticipate them. So, today I’m going walk through my day Knowing that every SURPRISE is God speaking to me in a deeper way.

I just had my first SURPRISE, and it was a good one I reached into my pocket and I found a $20 bill I’m ready for whatever the day brings. have a blessed day! It also means I need to do laundry!
