Laughter

Craig Harrison's Coffee with Jesus reflections provide a healthy cup of daily inspiration to start your day. Cover art by

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about LAUGHTER.  Yesterday, we had a little Celebration of Life for a classmate from high school.  Although he left us too early, getting together with his family and other old classmates brought lots of laughter.  Even amidst our sadness, the laughter was healing.

I think it’s important that we laugh.  My grandson was here for a few hours and I asked him how old he thought I was.  He said 78!  I told him I was only 61 and we just sat and laughed.  We have to learn to not take life so seriously.  It’s good to laugh.

Today, laugh.  Laugh at yourself.  Find someone to laugh with.  There are lots of serious things going on in the world, but we have to remember that everything is in Jesus‘s hands.  And it’s OK to laugh.

Have a blessed day!

Buon Giorno Monsignor, Laughter is a vital component in our lives. Jesus wants us happy, full of joy and excitement. What better way to express our love to HIM than to show HIM we are grateful for all we have then through laughter. To truly appreciate happiness we must first experience first hand pain and suffering, there’s no way around this. During my darkest moments I’d try to find something to laugh at, as I knew the power of laughter. As children, we laugh on average 60 times a day. As adults I don’t know what happens but many of us completely stop laughing. As adults all we need are 3 good belly laughs to release all the good happy positive hormones, and our body will start healing itself. By laughing, not only are we feeling better but as laughter is contagious we are helping others by lifting their spirits. I truly work on finding stupid things I do to laugh at myself. God places many opportunities to laugh all around us, from children playing, children’s comments, our pets funny antics or when we people watch. I’m blessed my fiancée has a wonderful sense of humor and I receive my daily 3 strong belly laughs within the first hour we are together. Here’s to finding laughter all around us. Ecco per trovare risate intorno a noi. Dr. Marta Chipres
