As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I am excited to begin preparation of Christmas. Today, I will begin putting out decorations for a season that brings Jesus present in a Unique Way. I am going to bring that energy to life.
I’ll be putting out Christmas lights to brighten up this world. I’ll be putting up a tree and decorating it. I’ll be getting my Advent wreath ready for four weeks of anticipation and excitement, preparing for Jesus’s coming! I will set up a Nativity scene (but no Jesus in it yet) to remind me of the journey and story. I will unpack my mother’s favorite decoration, a bowl made from peppermints made by my grandmother! I will begin playing Christmas music and enjoying the Scriptures of the season.
This year, I will do everything I can to bring the true spirit of Christmas to myself and to everyone I encounter. We need Jesus. We need Jesus now more than ever. We need the light of Christ to shine on our world! What a great day to get ready, because ready or not, HERE HE COMES!
