GIFT OF SIGHT

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking of the word “SEE.” Yesterday, I was driving downtown, and I saw a woman with a white cane. She was blind.  At the light, I was amazed to see how she maneuvered off the curb and across the crosswalk to get to the other side safely. I don’t think I have ever thought much about my own SIGHT or thanked God for the gift of it. It’s one of the many blessings that we take for granted!

Then I began thinking a little more.  It’s not just the ability to SEE but rather what I am looking at.  As I continued driving, I saw a homeless man walking in the middle of the street.  I asked myself, “Do I SEE Jesus?” I realized I had already judged him. As I went home, I drove my regular route and yet, for the first time, I saw everything as new.

Today, I am grateful for the gift of SIGHT, and I ask Jesus to take off my blinders, to help me to see HIM in each person, to acknowledge the beauty of HIS creation, and to be grateful that I can SEE!  Gen 16:13 “You’re the GOD who SEES me!”

Have a blessed day!
