Generosity

Craig Harrison's Coffee with Jesus reflections provide a healthy cup of daily inspiration to start your day. Cover art by

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the word GENEROUS.  Have you ever met someone who is, by nature, generous?  People who sometimes share what they have, sometimes share good advice, or sometimes just offer a listening ear are Generous.

Scriptures tell us in Proverbs 11:25, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” And 2 Corinthians 9:11 says, “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be GENEROUS on every occasion, and through us, your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”

GENEROSITY, then, becomes a prayer.  Today is a good day to examine your own sense of generosity and then compare it to GOD’S generosity to you.  Would people say that you are GENEROUS with your gifts?  If you’re like me, you know you have a lot of work to do!

Have a blessed day!

Buon Giorno Monsignor I can imagine what our world would be IF everyone modeled and expressed themselves with generosity. Our Father expects us to be generous with our time, generous with our knowledge, generous with our love and in our material possessions, regardless of what we have, there are others who are in need. Giving of ourselves and our worldly possessions will bring in turn, inner peace and happiness. Why wouldn’t we embody the message of Proverbs 11:25, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. It’s simple so simple but we don’t do it regularly. You are correct, I have so much room for growth in giving, I focus on improving my giving of time, material and love. Thank you as always, wise wise sentiments
