Friendship

Craig Harrison's Coffee with Jesus reflections provide a healthy cup of daily inspiration to start your day. Cover art by

As I sit to have my cup of coffee with Jesus, and watch the sun come up, I was thinking about FRIENDSHIP.  You never really know who your true friends are until you go through a difficult time.  Jesus wants to be OUR friend.  HE has invited us into a personal relationship, based on LOVE, MERCY AND FORGIVENESS!

To build a relationship with anyone requires the desire to spend time with them.  With time, the relationship builds trust and vulnerability.  To build our relationship with Jesus, we need to study HIS word, experience HIM in the sacraments, and spend time alone with HIM in prayer and meditation.

Over the past few years, I have grown in my relationship with Christ by taking this simple time every morning to turn to HIM!  HE has taught me so much.  Today, Jesus invites YOU into that same relationship.  Pour yourself a cup of coffee, get out your Bible, and sit back and get to know HIM!  HE IS WAITING.  I think HE likes a strong caramel macchiato, or at least I know I do!

Have a blessed day!

Good Morning Monsignor, What a beautiful post, it leaves me with a feeling of peace, knowing WE have the power to alter our lives by doing a simple act of improving our friendship with Jesus. Today, as I always do, I thank God for gifting me another day to be present in THIS moment, to appreciate every one around me AND to gift all my worries over to HIM. He in return gives me peace, love, joy, clarity, and HIS friendship. I relish knowing HE will not abandon me, HE is ALWAYS there to listen to me, I’m sure sometimes when I call HIM, HE is tempted to push the decline button. HE carries me through all my personal trials & tribulations, I must put my trust in HIM. As for you Monsignor, bless you for your daily prayers even while you were traveling in Assisi! My gift during my 2 hospital stays was knowing you were praying for me. Thank you for your daily Coffee with Jesus messages. Through your writing I feel as we are old friends. Have a Blessed day!
