Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Craig Harrison's Coffee with Jesus reflections provide a healthy cup of daily inspiration to start your day. Cover art by

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus I was thinking about a book I read years ago, “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff“. I know this is true but it’s harder to practice living it. It makes me wonder why I make such a long list to do, why I have trouble sitting still and reflecting, and how I get annoyed when something I plan doesn’t go just the way I wanted. When we choose to follow Jesus, we can’t“ Sweat the Small Stuff”. Jesus is always bringing us sacred interruptions to see if we can find the HOLINESS in the moment. I’ve been down with the flu for the past week. We can learn we do not have to control the moment but that we can actually be present in it. Whether it be a house that needs to be cleaned, a flat tire, an endless list; our attitude makes all the difference. Are we serving our list to do… Or our Lord? Can we see the lessons in the sacred interruptions? Are we holding onto the past or embracing the present. When we strive to put Jesus in the center of our lives it’s all small stuff! Today I will strive to see Jesus in all the simple tasks, the small things, and make them prayers of GRATITUDE. I think I will put that on my list! Happy birthday Greg Gerow and Alex Garcia and Anna December and Mark Durando

Amazing Craig you are speaking right to my soul with the love of Jesus Christ . I enjoy reading your Coffee with Jesus - yesterday Stand Firm and today’s Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff really puts my current work environment in perspective- I am normally a professional, controlled , respected individual in my industry for over 30 years but continuing what I now would call harassment has driven me to a new low. I am depressed and second guessing my self - which I have always been strong and confident I am gonna give my current employer and my team of techs at least 120 more days if I can mentally handle it to see if there is a change I will probably seek some counseling and definitely start working out again Some days I just feel like hiding but my customer base and employees depend on me I wish I could blame this poor behavior of other on Covid but no unfortunately they are ignorant and disrespectful I love the owners but it may be time for me to leave
