It’s a beautiful morning, having my cup of coffee with Jesus. I watch the sun come up and I’m really thinking and praying about a NEW day. I have some things that I want to get done, and some people to check on and talk to, but I also want to be present in my attitude and my speech throughout the day.
I want to notice all of the blessings God places before me today. A neighbor is walking by with his dog and says good morning to me. That might be a common phrase, but today it feels fresh and new. It is a good morning. It becomes a good day when I change my attitude, when I see the endless things that can happen which have allowed me to experience God. As the sunrises, I see God’s creation coming alive, the birds are singing and everything is green. And I praise God.
I do have things to do today, but it’s all about my attitude. I’m asking God to give me an attitude of gratitude all day. From unloading the dishwasher, tutoring grandchildren, listening to people share their stories, and being present in the moment, it’s all about attitude and we need to begin first thing in the morning.
So, pour yourself a cup of coffee. Take a few moments to reflect on the fact that THIS is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
