As the Advent season approaches, we are reminded that we can’t always **FIGURE** out everything; we are called to **LIVE**, to **journey** to Christ, instead of wasting time trying to figure things out, such as why people suffer or why our plans fail. We must get out of our head and into our heart, trusting that we are beloved children of God on a journey to know, love, and serve Him.
We should remember C.S. Lewis’s quote, “You don’t have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body,” and seek to reclaim our soul, which is the God that lives within us, a place of peace and joy. We can reclaim the **SOUL** by stepping back into silence, taking a deep breath, and going to that inner space where God dwells, finding our purpose and meaning by connecting our soul to God.
A new day can be filled with worry and dread or with **EXCITEMENT** and **ADVENTURE**, as our lives are full of **CHOICES** and each one has a consequence. The greatest gift God has given us is the gift to **CHOOSE**; today, we can choose to make this the Lord’s Day, to move from stressed to blessed, and to fill our day with God’s awesome love, peace, and joy.
It is easy to become worried and upset about many things, just as Martha was, but Jesus reminds us that few things are needed—or indeed only one—which is spending time trusting Him. When we worry, which is often about things that have not happened yet, we cannot experience His presence; we are called to trust in His perfect plan and not worry since we are children of God.
