Saint Teresa of Avila reminds us that we should let nothing disturb or frighten us because God is with us and does not change. Today, we are called to surrender our worries, fears, and pressures with the powerful prayer: “Oh Jesus, I Surrender myself to you. You take care of everything.”
While it is easy to pray for our own needs or loved ones, Jesus calls us to a greater challenge: to love and pray for those who persecute us. Today, we must ask the Lord to remove any bitterness, anger, and hurt and replace it with love, mercy, and forgiveness.
The word ‘YIELD’ means to give way, and we must practice yielding to what God is asking us to do instead of rushing ahead with our own plans. Today, we should focus on yielding to the needs of others, to our family, and most importantly, to the voice of God.
Just as the dark morning gives way to light, we must remember the ‘sunrise’ when we find ourselves in dark and sad places in our lives. We must patiently wait and trust that Jesus, the Light, will shine and bring us bright hope and peace.
