While watching the sunrise, having my coffee with Jesus, I stumbled across a poem.

I don’t have all of the background about it yet, but it has the initials L.S.P.

I felt called to share it with you today.

The adverse winds blew against my life;
My little ship with grief was tossed.
My plans were gone-heart full of strife,
and all my hope seemed to be lost.

“Then HE arose” one word of peace.

“There was a calm”-a sweet release.
A tempest great of doubt and fear
Possessed my mind; no light was there

To guide or make my vision clear.
Dark night! ‘Twas more than I could be –
“Then HE arose,” I saw his face-
“There was a calm” filled with HIS grace.

My heart was sinking ‘Neath the wave
Of deepening test and raging grief;

All seemed that lost, and then could save,
and nothing could bring me relief-
“Then HE arose”-and spoke one word,
“There was a calm!”

IT IS THE LORD!

This day, let us cast our worries and anxieties on the Lord.

When we begin this day knowing that we are being held up by our Creator, there is nothing we cannot do.

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I have been thinking a lot about anxiety people can experience. I have always been a worrier, or I should say I used to be one! I try to practice daily surrendering, surrendering my day to the Lord, asking for HIS guidance, and then, throughout the day, trusting in HIS plan.

One of my favorite quotes is from Norman Vincent Peale, “Worrying is accepting responsibility God never intended you to have!” Sometimes we have to actively remove worry from our lives. This is where prayer comes in. We must turn to God and give GOD our concerns and worries. It takes practice, but the Holy Spirit will help!

So, today with everything that’s going on, there is nothing to worry about because JESUS is still the KING of KINGS. We are GOD’S children. GOD gave us JESUS, who gave HIS life for us, and all we have to do is trust, TRUST IN HIM!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus on this morning, I am thinking about WORRY!

It is so easy to become worried and upset about many things. In the Bible, Luke 10:41, we hear, “Martha, Martha, ” and the Lord answered, “You are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed-or indeed only one!”

People can spend the entire day worried about something, but what we really need is to spend time trusting Jesus. Jesus tells us to focus on HIM. We need to open our minds to the reality that everything is in God’s hand!

When we worry, we cannot experience HIS presence in the sunrise, in our family, in the work we are to do. We are usually worried about things that have not happened yet!

So today, let us pray that we stay focused on our relationship with Jesus, knowing that we are part of HIS perfect plan. Let us remember that it’s not our place to understand what’s going on but to trust in HIM.

What do we have to worry about when we are a CHILD OF GOD? Have a blessed day!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the word ANXIETY.

I’ve had so many calls and emails from people telling me that they are full of anxiety. The Bible says DO NOT be anxious about anything; Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with THANKSGIVING make your request known to God!”

This is perfect advice for tumultuous times. Take time through your day to stop and take a deep breath, and know that everything is in GOD’s hands. Tell God what you’re worried about, name it out loud, and then, with Thanksgiving, hand it over to HIM, trusting that HE hears your prayers, and HE will give you everything you need!

I’m not sure why we always make it so hard. Jesus makes it very easy. We were not made to live in anxiety, we were made to live in trust in JESUS!

Have a wonderful day, let go of worry, and embrace the Lord’s calming SPIRIT! He has not let you down yet!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus this morning, I was thinking about a quote I read somewhere that said, “More is accomplished by folding your hands than by wringing them.” In other words, when we put our hands together in prayer, we can accomplish a lot more than when we just wring them in worry!

These days it is easier for us to worry than it is for us to TRUST. Things of this world can certainly shake our lives and routines, but we have to believe that God is right there with prayer to connect us to HIM. What are you worried about that you have not taken to God?

Remember, God’s office is always open… 24/7!

Today, turn to the Son of God with your worries and fears. Get renewed, get excited, get fulfilled, for no day is ordinary with an extraordinary God. Have a blessed day!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking of Saint Teresa of Avila. Today is her Feast Day. She said, “Let NOTHING disturb you, let NOTHING frighten you, though all things pass. God does NOT change. PATIENCE wins all things. But he lacks nothing who possesses God; for God ALONE suffices.”

What a wonderful reminder at the beginning of a day! We cannot let things disturb us or frighten us, because our GOD is with us. Whenever you feel under attack, overwhelmed, or anxious, the Saints always remind us that there is power in Jesus.

Today we surrender our worries, our fears, the pressures, the attacks, with the powerful words, “Oh Jesus, I Surrender myself to you. You take care of everything.”

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was reflecting on the Scripture verse from Philippians 4:6 that says, “Do not be ANXIOUS about anything!”

Oftentimes we wake up already stressed out before the day even begins. We rush through our day saying, “When this is over, then I’ll pray” or “Then I’ll rest.” But it never happens. Wouldn’t it be nice to not be anxious about anything?

We need to begin our day by handing our anxiety, our worries, and our entire LIFE over to Jesus. It’s all in our minds. We need to turn our ANXIETY into EXCITEMENT!

We have the power to live today with great excitement and positivity or to create worry, anxiety, and negativity. Just think, each day is a new day, a brand-new day, to learn new things, to see new things, and to experience God’s love.

So, make today a great day. Whatever you do, do it with a smile. Wherever you go, keep your eyes in the moment and see God’s creation in all. And whoever you encounter, know that you are encountering Christ face to face.

Jesus reminds us that we DON’T have to be anxious about anything when we walk with Him.

In the crazy world we live in today, it seems that fear can creep in and take over. Call it fear, anxiety, worry, it’s all the same!

Samuel Rutherford once said, “The secret formula of the Saints is: when I am in the cellar of affliction, I look for the Lord choicest Wines.”

And Norman Vincent Peale said, “Worrying is accepting the responsibility that God never intended you to have!”

So, there is really nothing for us to worry about; we must TRUST in the Lord.

Today is a great opportunity for us to SURRENDER all our WORRIES and our FEARS and Trust in JESUS. It is going to be a great day because God has all kinds of wonderful plans for us. Be happy, DON’T worry! And have a blessed day.
