As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking of the word CHOICE.

Every day of our lives, we make choices. I wish I could say we always make good CHOICES, but if we make a bad choice, we are blessed to have faith and another chance to make things new.

Today, as we wake up, we can make a CHOICE as to how we’re going to live.

We can begin by dedicating our day to serving Christ or we can choose to work on our To Do List.

We need to think often about the CHOICES we make and we need to include Jesus in them.

We can CHOOSE to put a smile on our faces and greet people with joy, or we can be negative all day.

We can CHOOSE to see the beauty of God’s creation or we can spend the day complaining.

Isn’t it a wonderful gift that we get to CHOOSE?

Today I am going to CHOOSE to make this a day of joy, love, and forgiveness.

I am going to CHOOSE to put a smile on my face and celebrate a new day!

What a great day to be grateful and to CHOOSE to make the world a better place.

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about CONTENTMENT. Contentment is not about having everything we want, but about finding peace and joy in what we already have. It is an attitude of a grateful heart.

When we are content, we are free from the endless cycle of wanting more and can truly enjoy God’s presence. Find contentment in His love today.

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about COMPARISON. Comparing our lives, achievements, or struggles to others is a thief of joy. God created each of us uniquely with a specific purpose and journey.

When we focus on our own path and trust God’s plan for us, we find freedom and contentment. Celebrate who God made you to be without comparing yourself to anyone else.

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about BLESSINGS. It’s so easy to focus on what we don’t have rather than appreciating the abundance of what we do have. Counting our blessings changes our entire perspective on life.

Every day is a gift filled with small miracles, from a warm cup of coffee to the love of family. Take time today to give thanks for the many blessings in your life.

Today, as I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I read that we had a small earthquake last night.

I slept right through it. People have been posting things like, “That’s all we need.”

I started to look for the locus, but all I could find were mosquitoes this morning!

We were not created to live in fear. We were created to love and trust our Lord.

The power of God protects us. In Psalm 12:7 it says, “You, O Lord, will protect us; you will guard us from this generation forever.”

I trust in His word and in His promises!

Today, I am going to choose to make this a wonderful day.

Even with 110° weather, earthquakes, and mosquitoes, it becomes a CHOICE.

I can make the best of today and count my blessings!

I can be positive, affirming, and kind, or I can complain, be critical, and sad.

Is it not great that we have a choice?

With Jesus on our side, it makes life a lot easier.

Put a little sunscreen on, and some mosquito repellent, keep your feet on solid ground, and stay in the shade.

It is going to be a wonderful day.

Blessings, and if the ground shakes again, make it a dance.

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, and watch the sunrise, I could not wait to share with you the most exciting news.

It is so wonderful, so overwhelming! I just sit here, and I am so full of excitement that I want to shout it from the mountain tops.

I am like a kid who has a secret, or parents who found out they are having their first child.

Each moment, the excitement grows, and I just want to share it with someone.

So, I am going to share it with you today. Ready? Today is another wonderful day!

It was made by God for you and for me, and we should be filled with excitement and joy to be a part of it.

It is contagious when you really think about it. Another day of life! Let us enjoy it together.

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Today, enjoying my coffee with Jesus, I am reminded that joy and happiness are two different things.

Happiness is good, but it is temporary. Joy is that deep connection with our Lord that brings peace, even when everything is not going well.

Joy brings peaceful assurance of God’s presence. My awareness of joy and the blessings that God brings can make a regular day a day full of blessings.

I experienced a deep joy yesterday when I watched a newborn baby and his family walk over to their grandparents’ house on our block.

A week before, the child was still inside his mother, and today, he is here, and the family was so full of joy.

The gift of receiving joy, which comes from God, is that we have to share it. Then it becomes contagious.

Today, experience the joy that only God can bring. And then share it, share it with your spouse, share it with your children, share it with someone who may need to hear from you today.

For this is the day the Lord has made (and it is full of joy), let us rejoice and be glad in it.

And don’t forget to share it!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the expression “to gaze”.

It’s another beautiful morning. The other day, I attended a wedding.

I loved watching how the bride and groom gazed at each other.

To gaze is to go out of self. Joni Eareckson Tada said, “I want to stay in the habit of ‘glancing’ at my problems and ‘gazing’ at the Lord.”

That is something that I want to do, too. What a wonderful day it can be when we gaze upon the Lord and all of HIS wonderment, instead of being distracted by drama, violence, and fear.

Today, on this beautiful morning, GAZE on the Lord with joy, amazement, and gratitude!

It is a beautiful day when you GAZE upon the love of the FATHER, JESUS CHRIST.

I truly believe that God does His best work when we think the story is finished.

In my Easter message this year, I wanted to remind us all that faith often begins in the middle of confusion and darkness. Whether you’re dealing with grief, loss, or the weight of addiction, remember that the empty tomb is the ultimate proof: the worst thing in your life is never the last thing God is going to do.

We are “Easter people,” and we’re called to wake up, rise up, and carry that light into the world.

Surrender: I’ve learned that God works most powerfully through our struggles when we finally let go of the need to control everything.

Purpose: You weren’t just put here to exist; you were brought here at this specific time to do His work on Earth.

Gratitude: I find so much joy in the simple moments—like sharing a cigar with a friend or seeing the smiles on my grandkids’ faces.

Take a deep breath with me. Let go of the worry and the hurry. He has risen, and now it’s your turn to rise, too.

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I continue to allow myself to experience all aspects of the Easter season.

The Easter message is that Jesus has RISEN. Every day I try to experience the presence of the RISEN Lord in the beauty of HIS creation.

As Spring is upon us, and everything is coming to life, we, too, should be coming to life.

The Word of God becomes alive!

During the Easter season, we need to keep alive The SPIRIT of the LIVING God.

We need to take the joy that we are loved by One who gave HIS very life so that we might live in HIS joy.

Today, begin your day with gratitude, and a smile on your face, knowing that you are loved!

With each day, the light of Christ will guide us out of the darkness of the world.

It’s happening now, just look around and give glory to God!
