As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about CHOICES. Every single day, we are faced with decisions that shape our lives and influence those around us. Choosing kindness, forgiveness, and love is a daily commitment.

When we seek Jesus first in our decision-making, He guides our steps and leads us down the path of righteousness. Choose wisely today and let love guide your actions.

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the word LISTENING. In a world full of noise, it is so easy to hear without truly listening to what others or God are saying. Jesus often withdrew to quiet places to listen to His Father’s voice.

When we take the time to quiet our minds and truly listen, we open ourselves up to receiving guidance, healing, and deep understanding. Let’s make an effort today to listen with our hearts to those around us.

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I am thinking about the word TRUST. There have been many times when I did not trust where God was taking me. A few years ago, I was traveling on a train in Italy. When I switched trains, I got on the wrong one. I was traveling alone, so I got very nervous. It was going to be hours before I would be able to get off, switch trains, and head back.

When I sat in the section of the train I had been assigned to, I spent the next three hours making new friends. And I’ve kept them for life. Sometimes God takes us to places and puts us in situations so that we can grow, meet new people, and find connections. I now consider that train ride to be one of the greatest blessings I have received. When we let God be the conductor and lead us where we need to go, we will see that there is a reason for everything. It says in Proverbs 16:9, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. “ Today, go wherever the SPIRIT leads you, even if you don’t understand. TRUST and be patient. God may have placed you there for Reasons you have no idea of. Follow the spirit! Have a blessed day!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about PROBLEM SOLVING. I know a lot of friends who were raised not to talk about their problems and that denial has caused even greater issues. Sometimes we spend more time reacting to a problem than just taking care of it and solving it. All people have problems they have to work through. We need to focus on solving our problems.

Sometimes this means setting a time frame, collecting data, or sometimes even just letting it go. Just because we have problems does not mean that God is punishing us, in fact, that is absurd. Problems are just a part of life; what we do with them is the real test. So today, face and SOLVE today’s problems. Don’t worry about yesterday’s, there’s nothing you can do about them. Turn to God and ask for guidance and help! It says in Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.“ Proverbs 3:5, “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart, I do not lean on your own understanding.“ Matthew 7:7,“ Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find it; knock, and it will be open to you.“ Today, turn to the Lord, solve the problems at hand, and then let them Go. Live in HIS peace and love! Have a great day!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking of the word SHEPHERD. I have always loved Psalm 23, “The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want”! The dictionary defines a SHEPHERD as one who tends his sheep. I am sure that is why the Scriptures always refer to Jesus as the true SHEPHERD. If one of them goes astray, HE leaves the 99 and goes after the one that is lost.

When we say that the Lord is my shepherd, we make a claim that Jesus is the Lord of our life and that it is He whom we follow. Scriptures tell us that a SHEPHERD knows HIS sheep. I find comfort knowing that Jesus knows me and that He is the one I need to follow. I find comfort that Jesus would search for me if I were lost. So today, whatever is going on in your life, know that Jesus is the True Shepherd. He will lead you to quiet Waters and refresh your soul. He will guide you and lead you on the right path for HIS name’s sake. He will anoint your head with oil and your cup will overflow. What more do we need? Today I am going to rejoice in my shepherd, Jesus Christ! Have a blessed day!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about a quote I read that says, ” Remember… interruptions are often God’s way of saying, ‘Hey, I need you over here!” I call these moments SACRED INTERRUPTIONS. A SACRED INTERRUPTION is when you have your schedule and your “To Do” list and everything is going along well, and then you get a text, or a call, or an email, and God takes YOU in a different direction. I used to fight these SACRED INTERRUPTIONS but now I realize I need them. They remind me that God is taking care of me and that often times my plan is not HIS plan. Whenever this happens, I can see afterwards how HE was trying to get my attention because HE needed me to do something for HIM! I now expect them and welcome them. So today, if God blesses you with SACRED INTERRUPTIONS, embrace HIM and know that HE is guiding you, loving you, and directing you to where you need to be. Have a blessed day!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the word KNOWLEDGE.

When we let ourselves be guided by truth, we gain knowledge. Each of us learns lessons in our own time. On our journey, we have to go at our own pace while letting others go at theirs.

Jesus is working in our lives daily to show us where we need to change and grow, to teach us to love more, to trust more, to be more alive.

Today I am going to let myself and others do things at their own pace. I will slow down enough to experience the blessings and challenges of the day. I will listen for the voice of Jesus and follow HIS guidance. I will trust HIM and let HIM set the pace. I will not compare my journey with that of others, but will live in the PRESENT MOMENT, listening to Jesus and letting him guide me!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was reflecting on WALKING in faith. It’s often hard to know what to believe today. What is real news? What is fake news? It can be hard to tell. But we always have HIS GOOD NEWS.

What I do know is we need to WALK in faith And the only news we should trust is the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ. To WALK in faith means to TRUST in God’s word and in HIS promises, HIS Commandments. It means being true to SELF while allowing the Spirit of God to direct our lives.

How blessed we are that our CREATOR fills us with HIS SPIRIT to be our guide. If we are sad or depressed, or going through a trial, or are struggling, we just need to go to HIS WORD (The GOOD NEWS) and HIS promises. We may live in confusing times, but God is never confusing.

So today, open the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ. Listen to the TRUTH and follow HIS guidance. In the end, nothing else matters but to be true to self and true to God! Let our pray be, “Jesus, I surrender myself to you, you take care of everything!” Have a blessed day!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about how I sometimes feel like just a tiny drop of water in the ocean. When I get caught up in the negativity of so many people’s different ideologies and movements, some of them so mean-spirited, I get frustrated.

I feel like I’m swimming upstream. But then I hear the voice of God, who calls me to silence. He teaches me to swim with the current of HIS grace. Don’t get me wrong. There are times when we also have to swim upstream against the current to do what is right, trusting that God will give us the courage and the strength.

Today I am going to go with the flow and let God take me where HE needs to take me, knowing that HE guides me and directs me! He teaches me to swim to a new place, ready to set foot on an island of truth and HOPE. God is my compass. I am remembering my father today on his birthday! Have a blessed day.

As I am having my cup of coffee this morning with Jesus, a father on his bike was being followed by his five-year-old son on his bike with training wheels.

I thought about how the FATHER leads us. HE gives us training “wills”! HE teaches us gradually how to surrender our will to HIS! We spend so much of our time working for titles, a bigger house, more money, and our egos can grow strong. We lose our focus and purpose, and then God steps in and teaches us to surrender. We do not have to be afraid because HE is always WITH US, training us, reminding us, picking us up, and loving us.

We all need training! Today let’s ask ourselves what is HE training me for? Am I listening, am I following, am I surrendering? Am I following HIM to lead me like that little kid on his bike with training wheels, following his father?

Another day for us to grow in HIS awareness and follow HIM. Here they come, back again. How ironic that this time the little boy is leading.
