As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the word FOCUS. I was talking with one of my grandchildren who was telling me how hard it was for him to FOCUS in class. Then a friend of mine called me and said he had a hard time focusing when reading the Scriptures, how his mind kept wandering.

I think all of us have some brain fog which keeps us from being able to FOCUS, but one thing we can FOCUS on is God’s LOVE. Every day that we wake up, God breathes new life into us. We don’t need to overthink it, we really don’t have to focus on it, we just have to gratefully accept it. Yes, we may be struggling with focusing on some of the simplest things. Last night I went downstairs, and I couldn’t even remember why I went down there. I still don’t! But what I am going to focus on is God’s love. So today, don’t worry if you can’t remember what you’re doing or even why you’re doing it, just remember God loves you and when you’re confused, think of HIM! Have a blessed day and focused day!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the violence in our world that we read about daily.  I know in my own life when I have felt attacked at first I felt that I need to be on the defensive, but when you TRUST in God you know that HE will bring TRUTH and JUSTICE. This world belongs to HIM and so do we. I wonder if we will ever learn from the mistakes of the past.

So, today I’m going to PRAY for our communities and our families that we will turn to the LORD and learn to love as HE loves. I am going to CONSECRATE our GREAT communities to the LORD. I hope you’ll join me!

As I sit and have my cup of coffee with Jesus, I was thinking about the word OBEDIENCE.  If you look in the Scriptures, you will find that Jesus never forces or threatens OBEDIENCE.  Jesus uses “IF”.  “If anyone desires to come after ME, let him deny himself”.  This is true DISCIPLESHIP; HE invites us to a life and encourages us to follow.

Jesus makes HIS way, HIS truth, and HIS life very clear; it’s not about rules, it’s about a way of life based on love, mercy, and forgiveness.  This is something our world needs to see today more than ever.  When we obey Jesus, God ‘s love flows through us and touches the lives of many others. Forced obedience is controlling, and it’s easy to fall into that sin.

Today, we should be asking ourselves if am we are joyfully, willingly, and obediently following Jesus, or are we living out of fear and control.  If you’re living out of fear and control, Jesus is not a part of it.  Today, let’s live in the Freedom of being a true disciple, following Jesus.  What a great day, CHOOSING to be obedient to God’s WORD!  Have a blessed day!
